The chip shuffle is one of the easiest and most common poker chip trick. If you walk through a poker hall you are bound to see a handful of players at each table shuffling a stack of chips while waiting for the next hand, while mulling over a decision or even as a taunt of sorts while putting another player into the think tank.

The basic idea behind the chip shuffle is as follows:

  1. Take a stack of chips
  2. Split the stack into two equal halves
  3. Push both stacks together with a single hand while separating one stack of chips in order to allow the chips in one stack to slide into the other stack (try this first with your dominant hand and move on to using your non-dominant hand after you have mastered doing the chip shuffle with your dominant hand)
  4. When you do this correctly the chips will appear in a similar fashion as the picture above.

It is a lot easier to learn this chip trick with a video aid which I have included below.

Practice the chip shuffle enough that you do not have to think about it before bringing the chip shuffle to the poker table.
